Education Education Education
So Its cold and rainy outside, and I am sitting in front of a nice cozy fire, reading the catalogue for The Texas School of Professional Photography, and guys I am so excited! I signed up for a class when registration began and I cannot wait! Its not until April, so I just have to wait a bit longer! I know I am in Virginia and It's in Texas, but I can already tell it is going to be so worth it! Not to mention I get to go back home to good ol' Texas for a bit I am telling you all of this to say, "Never Stop Learning"
There are so many different avenues of which you can learn in the photography industry. When I first started to get really interested in photography, I started buying all the books I could on the various different photography subjects. They were helpful, but I didn't really feel like it was helping me much. I started following different professional photographers and they all said they same thing. "Never Stop Learning". There are so many different ways to expand your knowledge and skills.
1. 2nd Shooting- this is a great way to get hands on experience and learn from fellow photographers.
2. Workshops- This is another win win situation. You get to meet fellow photographers and Vendors and Network, but also get a chance to build up your portfolio.
3. Classes- Guys, seriously this has been the thing that has helped me the most! You can never learn to much! I have found that my growth as a photographer has in large part come from taking classes that pertain to photography. There are a ton of different options for education out there, you just have to find the ones that fits your needs and your learning style.
I cant wait to share with yall the rest of my experiance at the Texas School of Professional Photography School, and I will be splitting it up in to a few blog posts. So stay tuned and see you soon.
