Matthew & Megan
Sometimes, in life, you meet people so genuinely kind that it catches you off guard. Not because you’re surprised that such kindness exists; but because, in the moment, you think, If everyone was like them, what a more beautiful world it would be. That’s how I felt the first time I met with Matthew and Megan! When I got there on their wedding day and met their families, it was clear where all the joy and love started! I can’t even begin to express how precious ever single person in attendance was to be around.
Matthew and Megan’s wedding did not turn out they way they had originally plan for due to COVID-19. However even with their wedding downsized and much more intimate, I cannot imagine a more perfect day. Love, Joy and the Holy Spirit were present throughout the whole day! Instead of their original venue their wedding took place at Megan’s parents home in the most scenic and beautiful backyard I have ever seen to date! Also, It was in compliance with quarantine guidelines right down to the amazing face masks that were made for the bride, groom and wedding party!
It’s hard to pick a moment of Matthew and Megan’s wedding day that didn’t touch my heart, but one moment that really made my heart swell was when Matthew and Megan made the decision to wash each others’ feet during their ceremony. For their first act as a newly married couple, they chose to honor each other by demonstrating the same selfless love that Jesus demonstrated for all of us. By washing each others’ feet, they were symbolizing the devotion and humility they want to bring into their marriage from the start. What an amazing way to honor God and each other.
Megan and Matthew, what an honor it was for me to capture the start of your incredible love story. What an honor it was for me just to be in the presence of such a God-filled space, and to be able to capture the raw, pure joy the two of you embody. I love you both so much and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect wedding. I can’t wait to watch as the rest of your journey unfolds!
